U2 frontman Bono has become the first man to be named Glamour's Women of the Year. The musician was honored for his activism in promoting gender equality and inspiring women around the world.

"I'm sure I don't deserve this award. But I appreciate it because it's a chance to say that the fight for gender equality won't be won unless men join in. We have a big responsibility for this problem, and we have to find a solution," Bono said in his acceptance speech.

He also quoted Nelson Mandela: "It only seems impossible until it's done."
