80% of Russians consider the results of Eurovision biased.

According to a survey conducted by VTsIOM, the majority of Russians considered the results of the Eurovision Song Contest held in Stockholm to be biased. The respondents who watched the final broadcast mostly consider the voting to be objective — 51%.

However, the jury vote, as well as the overall result, were unfair, according to 80% of respondents. 65% of those who took part in the survey agree that the first place was awarded to the Ukrainian performer Jamala “most likely not because of her talented performance, but because of Ukraine’s pro-Western and anti-Russian policy,” the authors of the study note.

Among those who watched the final of the competition, this share is even higher — 81%.

52% of survey participants spoke out against Russia’s participation in Eurovision 2017. 37% believe that Russia should send a participant next year.

It is noted that 38% of the Russians surveyed watched the broadcast of the Eurovision final this year.

Ukrainian singer Jamala won the Eurovision 2016 final. Second place went to Australian singer Dami Im, and third place went to Russian performer Sergey Lazarev.
